The soft hum of the city's neon lights cast a kaleidoscope of colours across the room, dancing off the metallic surfaces and casting long shadows in the corners. In a spacious, yet cluttered loft overlooking the urban sprawl, Kitten sat cross-legged on a worn-out leather couch, her fingers deftly tapping away at a sleek cyberdeck resting on her lap. The loft, a converted warehouse, was a testament to the lives of its inhabitants, a blend of high-tech gadgets and makeshift comforts.

Kitten, a young woman in her early twenties, exuded a unique blend of innocence and edge. Standing at 5'10", her presence was striking yet unassuming. Her pale, lavender hair cascaded down in soft waves, framing her angular face and falling gently over her shoulders. Large, expressive eyes - one an artificial violet, the other a natural green - peeked out from behind her wire-rimmed glasses, a testament to her dual existence between the organic and the synthetic.

She adjusted her glasses, the motion drawing attention to her delicate features and the soft glow of her augmented reality display reflecting in the lenses. Dressed in a mix of comfortable streetwear and modified tech-gear, Kitten's attire hinted at her life on the fringe. A simple black hoodie, adorned with patches of various hacker collectives, hung loosely over her slight frame, paired with cargo pants that had more pockets than one could count, each bulging with tools of her trade.

Kitten was a technological prodigy, a vigilante hacker who had carved out a niche in the digital underworld long before she had met Lumina. Her life had been one of solitude and survival, navigating the treacherous streets and cyberspace with equal parts skill and determination. It was her fierce independence and uncanny aptitude for technology that had first drawn Lumina's attention.

Their initial encounter had been less than conventional. Kitten, driven by curiosity and the thrill of the challenge, had attempted to breach Lumina's network. Instead of anger, Lumina had felt a sense of intrigue and admiration for the young hacker's boldness and skill. That night, a mutual respect had been forged, one that quickly grew into a deep bond of friendship and trust.

Now, as Kitten glanced around the loft, her eyes settled on the various gadgets and tools strewn about. The loft itself was a haven, elevated above the main floor of the warehouse. Below, in a corner tucked beneath an upper catwalk, was the shipping container housing Lumina’s rigger cocoon - a detail Kitten had grown used to, even if she couldn’t see it from where she sat. Here, amidst the chaos and constant hum of the city, she had found a place where she could truly be herself, where her talents were not just recognized but celebrated. With Lumina, she had found not just a partner in their covert endeavours, but a family.

Kitten’s fingers paused over the keyboard, a soft smile tugging at her lips as she considered their next move.
